Rum Tourist Transportation PLC.   The Company was established and registered at the Ministry of trade and industry under registration #6025 on the 20th Feb 2000 to operate as a tourist carrier company according to the rules and regulation of tourism transport law #7 for the year 1995. The Company was licensed  to start operating on the 10th Oct 2002 after fulfilling all the legal requirement: Owning more than 50 intercity tourist coaches Availing the management offices and employing qualified employees and technicians. Availing parking and maintenance center for the coaches Bank Guarantee of Jordanian Dinars 200,000 payable to the Ministery of Tourism & antiquities .   Mr Riad Khashman        The Company Started it's operation as of 10th Oct 2002 and has the  Management  and reservation offices, parking, operation and maintenance offices at Yadoudeh .            Rum Tourist Transport main Activities are providing tourist transportation for the incoming tourists to Jordan to all the historical sites in the country .   Rum also cater for the outgoing traffic from Jordan to neighboring countries such as Syria, Lebanon and Turkey , as well as a transporter of delegations, conferences, and working on promoting student trips to the historical sites of Jordan .   Rum is the major carrier for the Haj and Omra trips of the Muslims to the holy sites in Saudi Arabia .   Management The Managing Director / General Manager Mr. Riad Khashman (BA in Law) runs and manages Rum Tourist transport Co. has practical experience in the tourism industry as well as public lands and air transportation since he had established travel and tourism agencies and private airline and involved with public transport . Corporate Structure The corporate governance structure of Rum is headed by a Board of Directors, elected to represent the interests of its shareholder base. The Chief Executive Officer is the Chairman of and reports directly to the Board regarding the financial status of the Company. Below are key highlights of the personnel responsible for the strategic and directional decisions of Rum serving on the current five year tenured Board of Directors: RIAD ZUHAIR KHASHAMAN Mr. Khashman is currently the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Rum. He received his Bachelor’s of Arts degree from University of Mu’ta in Law. He currently serves as a board member of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), Arab Union Land Transportation (AULT), and National Tourism Board (NTB). Mr. Khashman has been actively involved in the tourism sector in Jordan for over 10 years, through his direct involvement in the establishment and management of Rum and several recognized travel agencies in Jordan. GEORGE BAWAB / TEAM TOURS Team Tours is a leading travel agency service provider in Jordan and the Middle East. Team Tours represents various international tour operators from Italy, Germany, England, and the United States. Mr. Bawab, the general manager, has a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Bernard Baruch College in the United States and has more than 30 years experience acting as the General Manager of Net Tours. Mr. Bawab serves as a member of Jordan Travel Agency Association (JTAA), the Incoming Tour Operator Association (ITOA). NAJATI SHAKSHIR Mr. Shakshir is a Partner and General Manager of Hertz-Rent-A-Car in Jordan and Iraq, and serves as the president of the Rent-A-Car Union. Mr. Shakshir has a Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering. Mr. Shakshir has worked for the more than 25 years as chief engineer at General Fendicate Trading Company in Kuwait. ZUWAR FOR INVESTMENTS Zuwar for Investments is a Tourism Investment Company involved in several Tourism and Aviation Projects. GHASSAN AL WATHAIFI Mr. Al Wathaifi is a prominent Jordanian businessman, with several strategic investments in Jordan and abroad, most prominently the Rider Glass project in China.
History   Rum is supported by  Al- Khashman family whom they are known in the transportation section since 1946 in Jordan and the region   Mr. Rajab Al- Khashman is the founder of  Al- Andalus Transportation Co. was the first Jordanian investor in this sector , today Al-Andalus is managed by Eng. Moh'd Rajab Al- Khashman and Eng. Abed Rajab Al-Khashman , owns and operates more than 200 city & intercity buses working as public transportation
